Narration

Since 2021, Pascal has been narrating audio books for Transkript Productiehuis. In addition, he is our ‘house voice’ and narrates audio descriptions, among other things, for Nevero.

Audiobooks

In the summer of 2021, Pascal passed the test for narrators at Transkript Productiehuis, a recording studio specialised in audiobooks. Now, he spends half a day per week in the studio, narrating books for Luisterpuntbibliotheek. That way, people who are blind or visually impaired, but also people who have trouble reading for one reason or another, can enjoy their favourite books.

Would you like to know which books Pascal has narrated? In the Luisterpuntbibliotheek catalogue, you will find all of the books he has read which are completely finished!

Audio description

Pascal has a home studio, where he records audio descriptions, among other things. And that is different from narrating audiobooks. Whereas in an audiobook, you try to sweep the listener along in a story, in audio description, you keep your voice more to the background. That doesn’t mean that audio description has to sound ‘monotonous’, but a neutral intonation does often work best.

Extra

Narrating texts is, of course, different from correcting or translating them. But at Nevero, we both have a background in translation and editing. As such, we easily spot mistakes or sentences that don’t read fluently. Of course, we record your text as delivered, but don’t be surprised if we come back to you with suggestions – all part of the service, of course.

In the spring of 2022, Pascal got narration coaching from Frank Bervoets. Frank is an experienced voice-over artist and is, among other things, the Flemish voice of the painter Jan Van Eyck in the expo at the Saint Bavo's Cathedral in Ghent.
